Clyde Fitch (1865-1909)
Clyde Fitch built the estate in 1905, as his perfect sanctuary in which to both live and create. He still haunts this strange 50-room manor where the band resides and develops their unique act. Now, he’s a ghost, and he’s not happy.
Their music is too loud, and they are tarring the walls in his beloved ballroom. A successful playwright and producer, Clyde authored over 60 plays. Considered the raconteur of his time, he once dated Oscar Wilde - but left him, calling him dull. Clyde grows fond of Alice, and tries to impart invaluable showmanship advice to him regarding the bands act.
Everyone agrees Alice is crazy to think that a ghost in the ballroom wants songwriting credit, and they urge him to quit drinking.
Only Alice – and eventually, Paul – are able to actually see Clyde.
Clyde’s World - 1904
A devoted friend of Clydes since he made her a star in 1901 with his play “The Climbers”, Amelia is like a sister he never had and as long as he keeps getting her roles in his plays, she will continue to be the sister he never had.
Edward is a young actor who happens to be Clydes driver and Valet when he needs the money to send back to his “Future Bride” in Ohio. Edward is extremly devoted to Clyde and is well aware as well of his bosses attraction to him.
Frances Benjamin Johnston
She was pioneering female American photographer known for her portraits and photographic series. She had an enduring friendship with Clyde and was a source of inspiration for him throughout the later part of his life.
Maxine started off as an actress but ended up helping Clyde manage his various broadway productions that are going on throughout the city. Despite the fact that everyone thinks she is playing him, she is the most sincerely supportive and trustworthy of Clyde, she at times does not see that. Maxine also has the ability to get herself in many crazy situations that are a novel upon itself.
Mr. Frederick Templeton III
Fredrick’s estate is next door to Clyde and he like Nelson Cross years later, manages to make life difficult for those who live in “Quiet Corner”. An heir to the Templeton Industries fortune, Frederick seems to make life difficult for anyone he deems “Different” and or are “Theatre Types”.
